Costa and Chris are emblematic of Halifax – immigrants with strong business, community and cultural passions. And they’re symbolic of the success that can be achieved through the region’s vibrant post-secondary educational system.
They met in the early 80s while attending Saint Mary’s University – and quickly became friends and colleagues in the downtown hospitality scene.
With family ties to Pier 21, the creation of Halifax’s extraordinary Greek Fest, and now the operation of some of the most popular restaurants in the Maritimes, both men have had a major impact on the vitality of the community.
“Giving back through The Salvation Army makes perfect sense for us,” says Elles.
Both men praise the Salvation Army’s longstanding history of helping immigrants in Halifax, as well as the Army’s tremendous track record of helping children and families on the front lines. Costa and Chris both believe in the power of faith as the foundation for helping communities.
You can catch Chris and Costa on the frontlines of the Salvation Army Stocking Stuffer Election, so get your votes in today!
